Health of the Czechoslovakian wolfdog
HD (Heupdysplasie) is a longstanding problem that also occurs in this breed. Therefore, certainly all breeding dogs has to have official X-rays results.
Most of the breeding clubs in Europe also have requirements regarding HD for possible combinations of breeding dogs.
ED (elbow dysplasie) also exists in the breed. Some clubs have requirements regarding ED for possible combinations of breeding dogs.
DM (Degenerative myolopathy) is a genetic disease in the breed (just like in all kind of other breeds). There is a genetic test available. Some clubs have requirements regarding DM for possible combinations of breeding dogs.
Pituitary Dwarfism is a genetic disease in the breed (the same gene mutation like in German shepherd and Saarlooswolfdog) There is a genetic test available. Only the dutch club has requirements regarding Pituitary Dwarfism for possible combinations of breeding dogs. But also a lot of breeders in other countries make this test for breeding dogs.
It is necessary to identify how all these diseases are spread in the breed.Therefore as much as possible CsW’s have to be tested!

- Epi (Exocrine Pancreatic insufficiency)
- Various forms of organ cancer (bladder, spleen, liver)
- Leukemia
